Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re so thankful that you’ve taken the time to provide us with feedback.

We love our clients and patients!

One of the hardest yet most empowering decisions a pet parent can make is contacting a hospice/palliative care veterinarian. Our clients’ feedback expresses the importance of senior and end-of-life care; and how loving, peaceful, and kind it can be.

We are so grateful for every aspect of the way you helped us say goodbye.

Dr. Hill,

We are so grateful for every aspect of the way you helped us say goodbye to our Spinner. It was so relaxed and peaceful. You had a wonderful way of making us feel good about what we knew we had to do. This surely is your calling and we are thankful that we found you.

We certainly will recommend you to anyone who has to face this sad time. Again our heartfelt thank you.

We want to thank Dr. Hill from the bottom of our hearts. She came out last September and helped us say goodbye to our sweet Stella Rose. Dr. Hill’s energy was so calming and positive. She was able to immediately gain Stella’s trust and put every one of us at ease. This process is hard no matter what, but Dr. Hill took the fear away and gave us all the best gift ever and the last thing that our baby girl heard and felt was our laughter. Dr. Hill showed up with cat food in a stick and Stella LOVED it and had us laughing and playing with her through her last moments.

It was so beautiful, peaceful, and special, that we honestly didn’t know she was passing on, until we did! We could not have imagined a more perfect and loving goodbye. We had a home burial and Dr. Hill even helped us after to carry and lay her down. So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Kelly & Jeremy

We could not have imagined a more perfect and loving goodbye.

Dr. Hill was compassionate and gave clarity to each step of the process.

Dr. Hill gave our family such a gift of the peaceful transition for our darling cat Stella. She was able to stay in our home, warm by the woodstove and have us by her side the whole time. Dr. Hill was compassionate and gave clarity to each step of the process. We thank her for being with us on one of our worst days.

I was devastated when my vet told me that my 15-year-old cocker spaniel had an oral tumor that would act aggressively, that there was nothing that could be done to save his life. In just a short amount of time, I broken-heartedly watched my active, fun-loving baby slowly deteriorate.

He became weaker, and his oral tumor grew larger. I knew that our time together was growing short and that the quality of his life was rapidly declining. Tucker had been by my side since high school. I couldn’t bear the idea of ending our life together so abruptly and with his suffering. That’s when I called Dr. Hill. She came to us just two days after my desperate call and spent 2.5 hours talking with me and assessing Tucker. She came up with a plan to make him as comfortable as possible with medications, suggestions of changes to make around the house, and fun activities such as lick pads and felt puzzles. She also told me what to expect and how to know when Tucker was no longer comfortable. After starting his new regimen, Tucker’s spark returned, and I could tell he was in less pain than before. We shared an amazing month together that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. Dr. Hill stayed in close contact and was always willing to consult with me via text or phone. When I knew Tucker had had enough, I called her on a Saturday morning. She arrived that afternoon to help us say goodbye. Her sincerity and kindness throughout the process allowed Tucker and me to be comfortable and spend our last moments together peacefully. I decided to have Tucker cremated, and his ashes returned to me. When his ashes arrived, there was a personalized card and note from Dr. Hill. She was an amazing support throughout Tucker’s final month. I’m so grateful for Dr. Hill and the memories Tucker and I were able to make because of her.

She was an amazing support throughout Tucker’s final month.

I am grateful she went peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

I want to thank Dr. Hill for allowing me to say and ask my questions, which lengthened the time she spent with us last night. While deeply saddened by my incredible loss of my beloved friend, it was a beautiful experience. I could not have wished for anything more for her.

I will miss her for a very long time, but the wonderful care and kindness extended to our family last evening makes it a little more acceptable. I am grateful she went peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Thank you.

She […] made us feel comfortable and respected.

I wanted to share widely the incredible experience we recently had with Dr. Kelly Hill, owner of Haven Veterinary Housecall. Sadly, we had to make the decision to say goodbye to our beloved 16-year-old Himalayan kitty this past weekend. His health had declined very rapidly over the last week, and we had to have him put down unexpectedly over the weekend. We contacted Dr. Hill who could not have been more professional, responsive, and compassionate. She came to our home, explained the process to us, made us feel comfortable and respected, and was amazing with our 7-year-old son, who of course had many hard questions. The process was calm, peaceful, and I genuinely cannot imagine having done it any other way. Dr. Hill helped turn a heart-breaking goodbye into a heart-warming experience. If you are in need of any senior pet care/therapy, hospice, or end-of-life services, I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you, Dr. Hill – we will be forever grateful ❤️

I was referred to Haven from the Animal Emergency Clinic when our eldest cat was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor. From the moment we met Kelly, we felt a sense of relief. Her personality and breadth of experience put us at ease. We felt that she understood what we were going through and we trusted her advice and recommendations completely.

Being able to have her consult with us and tend to our pet at home was profoundly meaningful and gave us a sense of peace, particularly as our cat didn’t like going to the vet under the best of circumstances and Covid had made everything so much harder. Kelly helped us navigate the last few months of our cat’s life with helpful information, deliveries of medication as needed, and a deep well of compassion. We felt every step of the way that we were in good hands and so enormously grateful for her services.

When the time came to let our cat go, Kelly was there every step of the way with patience, skilled care, and so much respect for the incredibly powerful experience that letting go of a beloved pet can be. I kept thinking that she helped us to have a good death – one that was respectful, gentle, peaceful, loving, and at home.

I had worked with a vet before that did home euthanasia when we lived in San Francisco, but what Kelly offers goes way beyond that and embodies the essence of hospice. I will continue to call upon her for our other pets and I cannot recommend her highly enough. I wish everyone everywhere could have access to pet hospice and someone as knowledgeable and wonderful as Kelly Hill.

She […] made the process as peaceful and gentle as possible.

When my wife and I thought we were prepared to say goodbye to our beloved 14-year old dog, Dr. Hill performed the most thorough exam he ever had. She conducted laser therapy on the hot spots he had been licking, prescribed pain meds for his arthritis and recommended a novel protein diet (bison, who knew?) that provided him with an extra 2 months of high quality life that we cherished every moment of.

I’d never heard of a hospice vet before and was amazed by the amount of time she spent with Brewski and how she assessed his entire body, not just our areas of concern. If you have a senior pet and want to be sure you exhaust every possible action before saying goodbye, Dr. Hill should be your next call.

When Brewski let us know he was ready, Dr. Hill came to our house within 24 hours of me contacting her. She made the process no pet parent wants to do as peaceful and gentle as possible for Brewski and as bearable as possible for us. We’re forever grateful to Dr. Hill and recommend her to anyone whose pet needs extra care.

Hi Kelly and Matt,

We just opened the bag with Georgia’s remains and I wanted to take a moment to thank you both for your compassionate communication and the obvious care you put into each detail. It has really helped put our family at ease during a difficult time to know that she was handled by loving people. We will cherish her paw print and watch her little patch of flowers grow knowing she is resting easy at home.

Thank you!

Dr. Hill is such an amazingly empathetic, understanding, and kind veterinarian.

I cannot recall the last time I felt an investment was so worth my money and time. Dr. Hill is such an amazingly empathetic, understanding, and kind veterinarian who is making life for us and our 15-year-old 75 lb lab/pit baby so much more enjoyable — both physically and cognitively.

Without going into too much detail, our girl had seemingly overnight developed intense dementia, extreme separation anxiety, and her arthritis had become worse. We were searching for at home euthanasia specialists in case we needed to help her get the help she may have needed, but we also weren’t sure it was time. Finding Haven and Dr. Hill on Google is the best thing that’s happened to us in a WHILE! One call to her and she explained that while she offers that service, she also specializes in senior dog care and can do a normal assessment or even develop a full hospice/palliative care program for her if we saw fit. She listened to our specific situation, repeated it back to us in her own words to help illustrate that she truly understood what we needed her help with and that she thought she’d be able to help, and my husband and I could finally sleep again.

And now, thanks to Dr. Hill’s recommendations, Chloe is sleeping through the night again too! I’m sure there will be hiccups along the way but after one session with her, we’ve learned cognitive training tools, a new people-food diet to help her, and the trick of putting yoga mats down for helping her not slide on our floors! Chloe is already doing better. Thank you, Kelly! I cannot share enough good things about your business for anyone having a senior dog!!

Thank you for making a high stress day more manageable.

Of our seven dogs since 1973, this time was definitely the easiest.

Bless you for what you do.
